When you’re an introvert living in an extrovert’s world, you spend a lot of time feeling misunderstood.
People wonder …
Why are you so quiet?
Why do you keep wandering off?
Why would you want to be alone
when there are parties to go to, people to meet, and adventures to be had.
They don’t understand that for an introvert,
our adventures begin on the inside
Our imagination gives us wings
Carrying us to new worlds
We are the thinkers, the creators, the dreamers
We may be still and silent,
But we are soaring
So when you look at us sitting alone,
or daydreaming
or wandering off by ourselves
Don’t feel sorry for us
We may be quiet, but don’t underestimate our power
We know more than we say,
we think more than we speak,
and we observe more than you know.
We’re introverts, and that doesn’t make us ‘failed extroverts’
We grew up thinking there was something wrong with us
But the truth is that introverts are so much more than what meets the eye
We are deep divers in a world of shallow swimmers
We know how to listen,
not just to words, but also to the subtle messages carried on the wings of silence
Give us the freedom to be who we were meant to be
And you’ll see how much introverts have to offer the world
It’s true that some people might never understand us, and that’s okay
Because, when you know how to stand alone
The crowd can’t knock you down
Please don’t try to change us into extroverts
We don’t want to wear a mask
We’re introverts,
And that’s something to be proud of.
Inspiration and goodness at it’s finest! 🙂 This is something every introvert needs to see and hear. Beautiful and magnificent in every way. Just gorgeous… Well done Michaela! 🙂
Thank you Marko!
Thanks Michaela, you truly are an inspiration and I appreciate the positive outlook that you give to all of us that are introverted. It has never been easy being introverted and having the world look at you very differently. It sure helps to know that there are others out there that see the world in brighter way and have the same wonderful gift!
You know me so well, and yet we’ve never met. (((HUGS)))
This is really well done and beautiful. This is something I look for in a healer of your caliber. I hope to see more things like this, this makes me really proud of you!! 🙂 I actually was moved emotionally, something that only happens when when I see selfless acts of kindness such as this. Well done Michaela, well done!! <3
Thank you so much for this inspiring video <3 i did grow up between really big extroverts which has always been so exhausting because i somehow felt that nothing was wrong with me,even though people always kept pushing me to talk etc
I wonder if it's only me that when extroverts push me to talk (specially to them about"important"stuff) i completely shut myself even though in my brain i have got soooo many arguments because i get the feeling that i need to defend myself?
I sometimes don't know if i should laugh or desperately dig a hole to hide lol
Fortunately i am very lucky to have a brother and sister who are introverts as well, the introverted musketeers 😀 i had to share the video to them instantly 🙂
That is such a great video and so inspirational!
Thank you so much for this lovely video, we introverts need all the affirmations we can get. The work place and school is the worst for constantly trying to remake you into something your not and all the while your body and mind are screaming…..I constantly have to remind myself with an affirmation……There is nothing wrong with me the way I am
Very beautifully compiled with great eloquence, Michaela!
Awesome
This is lovely! I could feel my heart swell with each line! Thank you, friend! You do us proud! You greatly honor us! :’)
Great video Micheala, thank you. So important to help introverts feel proud to be who they are. Still such a misunderstood dimension of personality by many.
Michaela, this is beautiful! Thank you.I love it! I will share it. I hope it will help many extroverts to understand their introvert partners, employees, etc
That is a beautiful video Michaela. Thank you. 🙂
This post is so inspiring,it has helped me to be my true self despite how others, particularly, extroverts judge my nature. It has given me the power to be unapologetic about who I really am, indeed I do not want to wear a mask.
Thank you Michaela for your inspiration 🙂
Thank you for creating and sharing this beautiful video!! Very inspiring.
Love this! Thank you for creating this video! ?
A beautiful, calming video with a message that speaks to us introverts. Thank you.
Will extroverts hear the message? Do they feel it’s relevant to even consider that “others” exist and that there are other ways of being in the world?
Lovely! A great introduction into a different mindset of someone who does not know the beauty of beeing an introvert yet. And a lovely reminder for those who have learned its beauty but every now and then forgets about that. Thank you for this!
THANK YOU SÓ VERY MUCH !
You should make this as an official poem.
I wish that there are more information/discussion about introverts especially on TV/film.
I am proud of being introverted because I can come up with really good ideas for my blog posts. I can imagine being somewhere else while I am somewhere (e.g. my job) I do not want to be. I can think clearly, cleverly, and rationally. I think before I act/speak. I do not waste time talking or hanging out with extroverts who want to BS, get drunk, etc.
Love you so much for this Michaela 🙂
